ThermographyWhat is Thermography?
Thermography is a heat-sensitive, non-radiation, non-contact, physiologic imaging procedure that uses infrared cameras to measure heat and potentially increased blood flow. It is not designed or intended to be used as a stand-alone anatomic imaging device or used in lieu of mammography, ultrasound, CT or MRI.

Thermography is only approved as an adjunctive imaging procedure, meaning it should not be used as a substitute for other imaging methods. Thermography does appear to have some unique utility with certain individuals. It may offer help when gathering additional physiologic information for women who are known to have dense breasts or implants.
